Yes there may be a Video Camera installed in your ordinary looking Ink Pen.
In the past several ink pens have been developed to contain video cameras. The idea is the user could place the pen in his or her shirt pocket then record audio and video while keeping the camera concealed.
Typically these types of pen cameras were used as wired or wireless. Meaning that the audio and video that is taken with the video pen is either transmitted via wired or wirelessly to the receiver where the video could then be recorded or watched from a distance. Cameras that are wireless work well for thise who want to see what the camera is seeing LIVE from a remote location. Think of that white van that may be parked out in front of the building.
With a wired video pen the video is sent to a pocket digital video recorder where the audio and video is recorded so that it may be viewed at a later time. This system has many advantages as the video quality is very good and there is no chance of picking up static or wireless interference or loosing reception. The down side is you must carry a pocket sized DVR which is the size of an Ipod.
Many of the latest pen video cameras out on the market today house a built in DVR (digital video recorder). The audio and video is then recorded directly to the built in DVR on the pen camera itself. The video pens come in different models and have up to 4 GB of internal memory. You can record for approximately 2 - 3 hours. The video can be time and date stamped as well.
The Pen Camera acts as a USB drive and is easily charged by your USB port. The camera takes amazingly sharp color video. The audio quality is good but does not work well at a great distance. So, as long as you are recording close to yourself or intended target you will experience good audio and video quality.
The video pen has a good wide angle view making it easy to record color video within a room or outdoor environment. The video is recorded at 15 fps to a AVI file that is easily accessed by simply plugging in the thumb drive to your PC.
With inexpensive devices like the pen camera you can take your favorite video clips while out and about or on the go without drawing a lot of attention to yourself. The video pen is handy way to take notes and quick clips and also makes for a great security camera to secure your home office or business.
