1 out of 5 stars Crying children at Christmas   December 25, 2008

Well, you can picture the excitement on Christmas morning. The children opening all of their presents; finally coming to the 'BIG ONE' which was the Wii Rock Band.
So little Eddie aged 7 gets to rip off the wrapping paper, whilst his two sisters aged 9 & 11 watch in eager anticipation. Dad then carefully spends 1/2 hour putting it all together - Dad is not technically minded!
The girls boot up the Wii consule, the atmosphere is electric. But nothing works. The smiles are fading!
Dad looks frantically through the instructions, remember Dad is technically retarded, then he spots a small red sticker on the side of the box that says the GAME ITSELF IS NOT INCLUDED.
Hang on! Dad has just shelled out close on 100 for something that preports with all the glitz & game imagery printed on the box, to be a Wii Rock Band complete with the software to make the thing work. No wonder there is a disclaimer sticker, put on afterwards on the side of th box. So Dad winds up saying "Merry Christmas children, here's half a present."
In my opinion: Very misleading & totally overpriced for someting that must have cost a few pounds to produce.

3 out of 5 stars Great fun, but could have been so much more   December 3, 2008

Its got drums, a guitar, a mic, and just shy of 70 songs. Great fun to play. But!!! its been dumbed down way too much from the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. This was a money grabbing oppertunity for Harmonix before Rockband 2 comes out. Would recommend the PS3 or Xbox version much more than this one. If you dont have one. Wait until Rockband 2!

2 out of 5 stars Broken in oh so many ways   November 28, 2008

I received this box and the game for my birthday recently. It as out of the box two hours before the drums' kick pedal stopped responding. A replacement was provided by EA... only for that not to respond at all. A search online revealed this was a common problem with no solution at all. I will now be returning everything.

I can see there is a the promise of a really fun time in this game - so long as you can get over the bitter taste of paying the same price for a game with substantially fewer features and of lower visual quality than its Xbox360 and PS3 version. Hammering out drums solos, losing yourself in a rousing chorus, flailing wildly at the frets in a solo and sharing some mostly alright songs with friends. But the game won't let me.

I might get Guitar Hero 4 instead. Maybe that's not so horribly broken.

4 out of 5 stars Rock band rocks   October 2, 2008

If you have ever tapped your fingers to a song you have to try rock band drums. They are as close to a real drum kit you can get without buying a real one. The songs at the beginning are easy enough for most people then gradually get harder and harder to challenge everyone. If you have a full band of four people you need quite a big tv to see your part clearly. I bought the Wii rock band but used to play guitar hero on play station 2. They are both well made but I like the graphics of the play station more. I would recommend rock band.

well...
i purchased this around two weeks ago,
it has good and bad points too it.
Its a fantastic laugh! especially when there are a few of you playing..
its multiplayer.. so your friends wont feel left out, plus you wont feel like an idiot playing alone :)
it does hurt your hands after a while but thats to be expected lol!

Only two bad things to say about this overall,it doesn't come with the game, and you only get provided with one guitar, other than that i would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys having a good laugh! :D
