Product Description
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock boss battles give fans a chance to compete against legendary guitarists such as Slash and Tom Morello. Players are required to deplete the boss' Rock Meter before the boss goes into their Death Drain solo, which always means 'lights-out.' After defeating a boss, players unlock that guitarist as a playable character and continue to the encore for the set list, which is a master recording of one of their respective bands' most well-known tracks. for instance, When Morello is defeated, the next performance is "Bulls on Parade," during which Morello performs on stage alongside the player.Guitar Hero 3 Features:Slash?s Original Boss Battle Recording Welcome to The Jungle (by Guns N? 3 out of 5 stars Great fun but not without issues   January 2, 2009
Okay, after having had this game for a few months and completing it on Easy, Medium and Hard I decided to come to Amazon and (finally) give my feedback on it.

I'll start by giving you the issues, so we can end on a positive note:

1} I bought this for the Wii as it had been billed as revolutionary, responding faster and overall more enjoyable experience. But I've noticed a distinctive delay when I'm playing so that I have to play a note about half-a-second earlier than I would on say - the ps2 version - this pretty much makes harder songs impossible and guitar solo's very hard to get 100% on.

2) The starpower on the wii version is also very unpredictable, sometimes you have to shake it about like a lunatic getting it to activate, and thus, raise your chances of making a mistake on the song, or it will activate when you DON'T want it to, and just get you annoyed at it. There have been several times where I've just turned it off in disgust because I'd been saving it up for a very specific point in the song and then it activates itself.

3) I know it's been named Legends of Rock, but a lot of their younger audience may be put off by the latest offering of guitar hero as the tracklist only really contains rock legends from the 60's/70's and 80's, while completely avoiding bands that rightfully deserve their place in this list, like Oasis, The Strokes and even some of the bands that have been included like The Killers, Bloc Party, The Kaiser Chiefs and bands of that sound seem out of place in these tracklists.

On the positive side this game is great for parties and for a laugh with some of your mates, although the price for a second guitar is pretty outrageous, especially when you see the product.

If you do buy this game and haven't ever played another Guitar Hero game, you may find your first hour or so of playing it getting used to the controls and finding songs like Slow Ride and Hit Me With Your Best Shot hard, but stick at it and soon you'll be a Guitar Hero!

5 out of 5 stars Rocking All Over The Lounge   December 12, 2008
We bought this for my 11 year old son as a birthday present, but as you might expect it has proved an overnight success with young and old. I don't think I'll ever get close to his high scores, but after a few long practises, even us old guys can pretend we're Jimmy Page.....oh alright then Status Quo. All it takes is a few quick fingers, a degree of hand/eye coordination and away you go. As always Amazon were tops for price and speed of delivery and I think its worth every penny. It would have been nice if there were more than a few songs we had heard of, but in fairness that's probably a sign of my age.

5 out of 5 stars Best Ever   December 12, 2008
Wonderful and addictive. Never thought I would like this game, but I'm a rock fan... and this was one of my first experiences on the Wii. Trust me, if you were born around '67 you will love it. Or for that matter, earlier or later... I'm trying to appeal to My Generation!!

Great at any age. Go for it.

5 out of 5 stars Hit me with your best shot!!!!   November 29, 2008
This is a fantastic game!!

The songs are pretty much good rock songs! Personally I like this kind of music, but friends of mine who are not fans still love this game, and many a night has been spent rocking out to Hit me with your best shot by Pat Benatar or Barracuda by Heart. One of my favourite songs is Cliffs of Dover by Eric Johnson, this amazing song gets stuck in your head as you jam!

You only have to do a quick search on youtube to find thousands of videos showing you songs and gameplay, and the ultimate challenge to get 100% on Through the Fire and the Flames by Dragonforce!

Who would have thought that a plastic guitar with 5 coloured buttons could be so much fun??
